Summary:
The Automation Equipment Supervisor plays a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of automation equipment within our manufacturing facility. This person will facilitate the maintenance, troubleshooting, adjustments of the facilities’ PLC-based machine control and data collection functions. This role involves maintaining, and optimizing automated systems, as well as being the automation subject matter expert for various business partners across the manufacturing plant. The ideal candidate will be responsible for upholding safety standards, minimizing downtime, and driving continuous improvement initiatives as well as training maintenance technicians to perform basic control diagnostics and repairs.

Compensation range is $38.17 - $50.13 per hour.
Compensation is determined based on non-discriminatory, business-related factors, including but not limited to, training, experience, education and/or professional certifications, geographic location, and market data.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Equipment repairs and maintenance: Monitor and supervise the operation of automation equipment to maintain consistent production levels, reduce downtime, and ensure product quality. Conduct maintenance schedules, coordinate repairs and address equipment malfunctions promptly.
- Collaboration: Provide guidance, support, and training to internal business partners, ensuring they effectively operate and assist in the servicing of automation equipment.
- Process Improvement: Collaborate with engineering and production teams to identify opportunities for process optimization, cost reduction, and quality enhancement.
- Safety Compliance: Enforce safety protocols and ensure compliance with industry standards to maintain a safe work environment.
REQUIREMENTS
Experience/Education:
- 5 years’ manufacturing experience, preferably consumer packaged goods and possesses expert knowledge of a wide variety of controls hardware, up to and including relay logic, PLC’s, HMI’s, frequency drives, and electro-mechanical automated equipment.
- High school diploma or equivalent; a technical degree or certification in automation, engineering, or a related field is a plus.
- Must have expert knowledge of controls user interface software including Rockwell automation programs as well as Open-Source programs.
- Must have expert knowledge of Ethernet networks, I/O modules, RIO controls networks and ability to converse with IT personnel to address interfacing issues such as networks, ethernet, cybersecurity, etc.
- Strong knowledge of vision systems such as bar code readers.
- Knowledge of utility systems such as solar, water and air, a plus.
- Proven experience in the operation and maintenance of automation equipment.
- Knowledge of safety regulations and industry standards related to automation.
Knowledge/Abilities/Skills:
- Must have expert knowledge of process controls technology, current and past.
- Must be able to read electrical and pneumatic drawings.
- Must possess a high level of proficiency in root-cause analysis and documentation.
- Ability to work and collaborate across the organization at various levels.
- Working knowledge of PLC programming concepts, computer network technology, HMI, Servo & Frequency Drives, Control Net, Device Net, and Ethernet.

- This position is based in Sebastopol, CA. This is an onsite role; expected onsite days are Monday through Friday, with occasional work on Saturdays.
