Social Media Intern

Marketing and Communications - Rohnert Park, CA - Internship

Summary:
The Social Media Intern provides support to our marketing team in various capacities as outlined below, while gathering knowledge about TM business practices and brand values. This internship is a two-and-a-half-month internship at 24 hours per week. The goal of this internship is to provide corporate experience and mentorship, while helping the current team meet long and short-term goals. This internship is onsite in our Rohnert Park, CA offices on Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursdays.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Curate and post captivating Instagram stories featuring product highlights and lifestyle imagery to engage our audience daily.
  • Maintain and update story highlights with fresh and relevant content to showcase the best of our brand's offerings.
  • Coordinate with Social Media Specialist to schedule approved content from weekly planning sessions onto Sprout Social for seamless publishing.
  • Provide hands-on support during reels production days by assisting with filming, lighting setup, and modeling to ensure high-quality content creation.
  • Manage inventory and order necessary supplies to support our social media activities effectively.
  • Identify user-generated content (UGC) that aligns with our brand aesthetic and reach out to creators for permission to feature their content.
  • Strategically share top-performing content on Pinterest to expand our brand's visibility and reach within the platform's community.
  • Collaborate with our creative team to repurpose existing video content for YouTube, ensuring optimal performance and engagement.
  • Enhance our social media presence by boosting approved posts to maximize their reach and impact.
  • Utilize Canva to craft story graphics and other social media visuals, updating existing templates such as "herb of the month" with monthly information.
  • Acquire proficiency in Sprout Social to analyze metrics and generate reports on key performance indicators (KPIs) for inclusion in monthly and quarterly presentations.
  • Stay informed of industry trends and viral topics to inspire innovative content ideas and strategies that resonate with our target audience.
  • Optimize our social media profiles by regularly updating profile information and ensuring brand consistency across all platforms.
  • Actively pursue ongoing learning and development opportunities to expand skill sets and stay informed about the latest social media trends, tools, and best practices.
  • Monitor social media posts to promptly identify and address any technical issues or failures, ensuring a seamless experience for our audience.

Minimum Requirements
Knowledge/Abilities/Skills
  • Strong understanding of and technical skills in social channels such as Facebook, Pinterest, Instagram, LinkedIn, TikTok, and YouTube.
  • Understanding of social media best practices.
  • Strong writing, communications, and storytelling skills.
  • Skilled copywriter who can turn complex messages into digestible content tidbits.
  • Working knowledge of how to leverage the latest social management tools.
  • Hands-on experience developing social media content
  • Photography, video and app-based content editing skills.
  • Experienced using Canva with natural eye for design and style
  • High level of proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

Bonus Traits
  • Experienced using MS Teams, Monday.com, and social media scheduling and reporting tools such as Sprout Social
  • Nature lover and/or plant-inspired
  • Knowledgeable or interested in herbal medicine
  • Affinity for natural wellness and selfcare products
  • Interest in organic, sustainability, environmental issues
Travel:
  • Occasional offsite photo/video shoots in the general Bay area

In-person Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday
Office Hours/Location:
  • This position is based in Rohnert Park, CA. Office hours are Monday through Friday, 8:30 – 5:00 pm.
  • Remote candidates will not be considered for this role.

Compensation is $20.00 per hour.

Compensation is determined based on non-discriminatory, business-related factors, including but not limited to, training, experience, education and/or professional certifications, geographic location, and market data.
