Job Summary:
The successful candidate will be responsible for the overall growth and direction of the Key Account headquarters/retail business, primarily focusing on the Drug Channel, small to mid-size retailers, and distributorsThis candidate will be responsible for account calls at Drug Chains- CVS &Walgreens, Assisting the National Accounts Manager with Target, Regional Super Market Chains (including Lowes, Food Town, Allegiance, Roche Brothers, Dave’s, and Coborn’s) as well as assigned distributors (including Lipari, Bozzuto’s and C&S). This position will oversee and manage sales brokers for the accounts within the defined region, however, will be the lead sales contact and face of the brand at the customer.  Further, there will be shared accountability for the strategic growth plan and for spearheading and managing the Customer Interface role with the above-listed accounts.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Identify sales strategies and develop existing accounts while seeking new business development opportunities.
  • Build strong and credible relationships with your retail partners, brokers, and distributors. Communicate effectively and clearly.
  • Build and execute distribution targets and promotion and shopper plans that follow TM guidelines
  • Provide a detailed analysis concerning expenditures versus sales forecasts.
  • Provide input to budget and monitor expenses accordingly.
  • Introduce new products to Distributors, Purchasing and Sales Agents, and Retailers.  Work closely with their buyers, category managers, and internal advertising departments.
  • Conduct detailed analyses of business trends in each account and for each brand, including brand share, pricing, promotion levels, and trade class development; formulate specific action plans to address problems and maximize opportunities.
  • Provide detailed information to management about our product line.  Measure successes and failures and make necessary improvements.
  • Evaluate and analyze the business using syndicated and shipment data to make recommendations and strategy adjustments
  • Attend Industry Trade and Distributor shows as necessary.
  • Partner and work closely with cross-functional teams (Sales Strategy, Customer Service, Demand Planning, and Shopper Marketing)

Minimum Requirements:

Experience
  • Minimum 5 -7 years of experience in grocery/ consumer packaged goods (CPG).
Education
  • College and/or University degree or equivalent experience.
Skills
  • Excellent business & financial acumen, including exceptional organizational and analytical skills.
  • Prior experience utilizing Target Partners Online, including ICM, POP, Launch Pad, Synergy, and VIQ, is preferred.  
  • Prior experience calling on CVS and Walgreens preferred
  • Prior experience managing brokers and a solid understanding of distributors
  • Demonstrated success in achieving revenue and profit goals through leading a 3rd party broker organization in both customer-level strategy and sell-through, as well as retail and in-market execution.
  • Demonstrated background in leveraging key category/brand/consumer/customer insights to facilitate greater alignment and commercialization of business plans at the customer level.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and a strong understanding of various syndicated data (Nielsen, IRI, Retail Link, customer-specific POS) are all strong assets.
  • High sense of urgency and results-focused.
  • Ability to travel regionally and nationally as required

Work Environment:
  • Remote position with travel as needed

Compensation range is $83,500 - $109,620.

Compensation is determined based on non-discriminatory, business-related factors, including but not limited to, training, experience, education and/or professional certifications, geographic location, and market data.
